The Department of Environmental Quality (commonly referred to as the DEQ) requires that all commercial buildings regardless of construction date and any residential building constructed before January 1st 2004 in the State of Oregon, must have an inspection survey conducted by an accredited inspection prior to any demolition or renovation activities.In the State of Washington, all residential buildings must have a survey conducted by an accredited inspector prior to any disruption of building materials regardless of age.
