Ethos, according to Greek history, refers to a person’s character and their balance between passion and caution. Today, the term more commonly refers to practices or values that distinguishes a person, organization or society from others. Ethos Environmental is a company dedicated to providing homeowners, contractors, small businesses and anyone else in need of asbestos and/or other hazardous material surveys for their construction projects. The Department of Environmental Quality (commonly referred to as the DEQ) requires that all commercial buildings regardless of construction date and any residential building constructed before January 1st 2004 in the State of Oregon, must have an inspection survey conducted by an accredited inspection prior to any demolition or renovation activities. In the State of Washington, all residential buildings must have a survey conducted by an accredited inspector prior to any disruption of building materials regardless of age. Ethos Environmental values their clients’ needs and will work as quickly as possible to ensure any required timelines are met. Not only will we provide the necessary documentation for the DEQ but we are here to go above and beyond by providing advice on what next steps to take if removal or abatement is necessary.
Don’t quite have time to collect samples yourself? Not sure how to approach the sampling process? Ethos Environmental will collect those samples for you in a safe and professional manner.
Ethos Environmental will provide an EPA/AHERA certified asbestos survey for anyone in need of determining suspect materials that may require proper abatement prior to beginning a demolition and/or remodel to a building.
Ethos Environmental will provide two types of lead tests; lead swab test and sample collection testing. A lead swab test will provide on site results but can be less accurate than sample collection. A sample collection test will go to a lab for analysis. Results will depend on the labs turnaround time.
Did you know that 1 in 4 homes have levels above EPA ratings of 4 picocuries/litre? EPA states that anything above these levels are a health hazard to the occupants in that building.
